Tuition & Terms of Payment
Full payment is required at the time of registration for each camp session. Tuition includes all camp activities, instruction, and use of facilities.
Payments are made online at the time of registration. Lake Forest Academy does not accept deposits or partial payments. For any billing questions, please contact Judée Koppenhoefer at jkoppenhoefer@lfanet.org or 847-615-3228.
Refund & Credit Policy
- Cancellations received before June 1, 2026 will receive full refund.
- No refunds will be issued for cancellations made on or after June 1, 2026. In cases of illness or injury prior to camp, a camp credit will be issued for a future session or the following year.

This camp is the perfect opportunity for players to sharpen their skills, compete at a high level, and build lifelong friendships both on and off the ice. - Ages: 8–15
- Gender: Co-ed
- Day Camp Hours: 7 a.m.-6 p.m. (varies by group)
- Check-in: Sunday: 2-4 p.m. on the first day of camp
- Check-in Location: James P. Fitzsimmons Athletics Wing
- Check-out: Thursday: Approximately 4 p.m., following the final scrimmages

Camp Overview
This program is designed for players of all levels, from developing skaters to experienced athletes. Campers will focus on building strong skating fundamentals, stickhandling, passing, shooting, positional play, and hockey IQ. Each day features a mix of on-ice sessions, off-ice training, and team-building activities to enhance player development in a positive, supportive environment.
Housing
Subject to change based on camp numbers
- Dorm Name: Marshall Field House (boys) & McIntosh Cottage (girls)
- Number of Campers per Room: 2–4 (no more than 4 per room)
- Roommates: Assigned by age & roommate requests (must be mutual). Campers without requests will be placed with peers close in age — a great opportunity to meet someone new!
- Linens: Not provided. Bring linens or a sleeping bag, pillow, pillowcase, and towel.
- Air Conditioning: A/C available in dorms.
What's Included in the Fee?
- Instruction: On-ice and off-ice training from experienced coaches and staff
- Overnight Campers: Dorm housing and all meals provided.

- Supervision: Staff members live on each dorm floor and participate in all activities
- Camp Apparel: All campers receive an official LFA Hockey Jersey. Additional gear/packages available for purchase.
Instruction, Equipment, & Facility
- Ratio: Low camper-to-coach ratio (10:1)
- Groupings: By age, ability, and experience
- Equipment Needed: Full hockey gear (helmet with cage, mouthguard, neck guard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, hockey pants, shin guards, skates, stick, water bottle)
- Facility: Lake Forest Academy Makenzie Ice Arena
- Medical Protocol: A certified athletic trainer will be on-site during all sessions to assist with injuries or illness. In emergencies, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

Transportation
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours, so please arrange prompt drop-off and pick-up.
Equipment Policy
All campers must bring their own hockey equipment. LFA will provide pucks, cones, and other training tools.
Medical Protocol
All LFA Camps have an athletic trainer on-site during active sessions to help with illness or injury. In case of emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
Meet the Coaches
Camp Director

Tom Boudreau
Level 4 USA Hockey coach and professional skating/skills development coach
Tom Boudreau ’01 returned to Lake Forest Academy in the summer of 2025 as head coach of the boys prep ice hockey program. Boudreau holds a USA Hockey Level 4 certification and is among the top skills developmental coaches in the Chicagoland area.
After finishing a professional hockey career, he started giving back to the game by coaching with many organizations, serving as head coach for youth and high school programs in the Chicagoland area. During this time he has also served as Director of Impact Elite Hockey Camps, Director of Player Development for the Chicago Young Americans AAA, as well as Central States Hockey Director for the Highland Park Falcons Hockey Association. All of this while building his reputation training some of the most successful youth, collegiate, and pro players through his own company, Boudreau Hockey LLC.
Prior to coaching and training, Boudreau had a seven-year professional hockey career that saw him play two years overseas in Sweden in the HockeyAllsvenskan and Hockeyettan leagues and five years domestically in various minor leagues (ECHL, CHL, SPHL, EPHL). Throughout his professional career he has played with, and was coached by, many players/coaches with ties to the NHL. Most notably playing for the NHL's Los Angeles Kings affiliate, Reading Royals, where he was teammates with Stanley Cup winner and USA Hockey Olympian Jonathan Quick.
In addition to leading the LFA program, he currently continues to train and develop amateur, collegiate, and professional hockey players through small group training, as well as run hockey camps and power skating/skills clinics for various players and organizations though Boudreau Hockey. He trains a wide variety of players ranging from youth Tier 1 and Tier 2 amateurs, all the way through USHL, Canadian Junior, NCAA Division I and III collegiate players, and professional players currently playing in Europe, minor leagues and the NHL. Among his long list of top junior and collegiate players that Boudreau works with is Lane Hutson who was the recipient of the 2025 Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s top rookie for the Montreal Canadiens. Lane is one of three Hutsons in the NHL trained by Boudreau as Quinn Hutson plays for the Edmonton Oilers and Cole Hutson plays for the Washington Capitals.
Before his professional playing career, Boudreau played in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) for the Robert Morris University Eagles. While playing for the Eagles, he was a three-time team captain and earned honors as Rookie of the Year, ACHA All-American honorable mention, as well as Academic All-American. Boudreau’s name remains among the top players in Robert Morris history and he was inducted into the school’s athletic hall of fame in 2010.

Zach Dubinsky
Assistant Prep Hockey Coach
Zach Dubinsky joined the LFA Prep hockey coaching staff in 2025. A native of Highland Park, Illinois, he played junior hockey in the USHL with the Lincoln Stars and Omaha Lancers before competing at the NCAA Division I level with RPI, Michigan State, and the University of Vermont, where he served as an assistant captain. Following his collegiate career, he signed professionally with the Iowa Heartlanders of the ECHL. The son of former NHL forward Steve Dubinsky, Zach brings a strong hockey background, leadership experience, and a passion for player development to his role at LFA.

1. Who can attend LFA Hockey Camp?

No. The camp welcomes players of all abilities—from beginners looking to develop their fundamentals to experienced players aiming to refine advanced techniques.
3. What kind of coaching can campers expect?
Campers receive instruction from NCAA-level coaches and experienced staff with backgrounds in player development, team strategy, and skill progression. Each player benefits from a low camper-to-coach ratio for personalized feedback.
4. How much ice time do campers get each day?
Campers enjoy multiple on-ice sessions per day, including skill work, small-area games, and full-ice scrimmages. Off-ice training, classroom sessions, and team-building activities complement the on-ice development.
5. What equipment do I need to bring?
Campers must bring a full set of hockey gear, including skates, helmet with cage, mouthguard, neck guard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, hockey pants, shin guards, stick, and a labeled water bottle.
6. Is equipment provided or available to rent?

Yes. Overnight campers receive three hot meals daily, while day campers receive lunch only.
8. Where do overnight campers stay?
Campers stay in Marshall Field House and McIntosh Cottage dormitories, with 2–4 campers per room. Rooms are assigned by age and roommate requests (must be mutual). The dorms have air conditioning and are supervised by staff living on each floor.

14. How do I register?
Registration is available online through the Lake Forest Academy Camps registration form. Early registration is encouraged, as spaces are limited and fill quickly each year.

Four sessions offered in June & July 2026.
16. What is the dorm room policy?
Four campers max per room.

$1250 for boarding campers, $950 for day campers.
