On Sunday, August 26, 2018, Head of School Dr. John Strudwick invited trustees, parents, and alumni to the stage in The Cressey Center for the Arts for the Deborah MacKenzie Turf Fields Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. LFA's newest campus enhancement, 158,000 square feet of artificial turf, was completed this past summer after generous donors at the 2018 Spring Gala and additional benefactors contributed to the $1.4 million project. A lead gift from the estate of David O. MacKenzie '50 was provided by the MacKenzie family, and the fields will be named in honor of David's wife, Deborah. The turf fields will limit game cancellations due to poor weather conditions and allow LFA students, particularly on the field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and softball teams, to practice and play at a higher level.
