Adam Gerber | profile
Adam Gerber has spent 20 years at Lake Forest Academy working with international students, first as an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor, and currently as Director of International Admission in the Admission Office. He has lived and worked in Hungary, Kenya, and Japan, and is eager not only to help international students and parents through the application process, but also to support them as members of the LFA community.
Adam has coached basketball, golf, football, track, and wrestling, and he is currently the head badminton coach. As Director of Student Activities, he helped establish the LFA House System, and as Director of Service Learning, he helped establish LFA's Service Learning Program. He has led student service trips to Louisiana and Kenya. Adam is a dorm parent and lives on campus with his two children.
Jessica Gimbel | profile
Jessica Gimbel has been a member of the History Department since 2015. Jessica graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she received a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and history. She obtained her ESL certification from National Louis University and is currently pursuing her Masters of Education there as well. Jessica teaches World History I and U.S. History, and she coaches varsity soccer and track & field. She is a member of the Academic Technology committee, the Head of School Symposium committee as well as the Jewish Student Union. She lives in Chicago.
Ted Golota | profile
Theodore Golota joined the mathematics department in 2016. He came to LFA from North Lawndale College Prep High School in Chicago where he taught a wide range of math classes. Ted has organized college placement test prep clubs and has coached volleyball and track. He is the Head Track and Field coach. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from North Central College and just completed his graduate degree from Northwestern University in Mathematical Leadership. He lives with his wife Tanika and two daughters Ludmila and Anna in Glenview.
Carolyn Gorowski | profile
Carolyn Gorowski has worked at Lake Forest Academy for seven years in the offices of admissions, college counseling, and student activities. As Dean of Admission she enjoys working closely with prospective students and families in the admission process and helping them transition to the Academy. She is also a college counselor to a small number of students, assistant coach for track and field, and dorm parent in Atlass Dorm. Prior to LFA, Carolyn worked in the Office of Undergraduate Admission at Illinois Institute of Technology, helping domestic and international students in their admission process. Carolyn earned her B.A. in Communication and Political Science at Muhlenberg College, and her M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Loyola University Chicago. Carolyn lives in an Atlass Apartment with her husband, son and black lab. In her spare time, she loves going to Chicago sports events, running, and travelling.
Aloyce Lekuton | profile
Aloyce Gonzaga Lekuton (known as Mr. L) joined LFA as a full-time international trainee in the Stuart Center for Global Leadership in November of 2016.
Aloyce earned his BS in Agricultural Engineering from EARTH University in Costa Rica. He has worked for an agricultural NGO in South Africa, the World Vision in Kenya, the Jamii Bora Bank Kenya, and the Children Peace Initiative Kenya. His last job was with a tax institution of Kenya called Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). He has traveled the world and lived in different cultures which helped him to be an open-minded individual. He lived in Costa Rica for four years to study. He lived and worked in South Africa for one year and lived two years in Krasnodar, Russia. He is fluent in English, Spanish, Swahili, Maasai, and Samburu. He worked with a number of GYLI groups in Costa Rica and is currently working on creating more partnerships for the Stuart Center and GYLI in the US and East Africa.
Aloyce lives on campus and is a dorm parent in Atlass. He is also the Girls Varsity Volleyball Assistant Coach and a Track and Field Assistant Coach. He has also coordinated and helped as a Chaperone to the Head of School Symposium to Caribbean (The Dominican Republic and Haiti), 2017 GYLI Year 1 & 3 to Los Angeles and Costa Rica respectively.
Jennifer Madeley | profile
Jennifer Madeley has been a member of the LFA faculty since the 2011-2012 school year and currently serves as one of LFA's School Counselors and Seminar Department Chair. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), earning her BS in Human Services from Lake Superior State University and her MSW from Dominican University. Jennifer coaches track and serves as a dorm parent in Ferry Hall. She has two children, Jenna '11 and Tyler '14. Jennifer lives with her husband Darrin, the LFA Athletic Director, in North Cottage with their two cats and dog Laker.
Stephanie Ramirez Krych | profile
Stephanie Ramirez has been teaching at Lake Forest Academy since 2011. Her undergraduate degree in Biology is from St. Louis University, and her Master's in Biology is from Washington University, St. Louis. She has taught both Chemistry and Biology in independent schools in St. Louis, Chicago, and New York. In the Spring she coaches track. Stephanie lives on campus with her husband and two dogs.
Michele Vaca | profile
Michele Vaca is an ESL teacher at LFA. She has taught numerous classes throughout her teaching career, including world history and AP U.S. history, as well as served as department chair at Rivermont Collegiate in the Quad Cities. She holds a BA in History and a BA in Education from St. Ambrose University. Michele has led salsa P.E. classes and is also an assistant coach for the LFA outdoor track team. Michele lives off campus.
