Kevin Hagen | profile
Kevin Hagen joined the LFA science department in 2015. After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Geology with a concentration in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Kevin completed the Earth and Space Science teaching certification program from Northern Illinois University. Prior to LFA, Kevin taught at Dundee-Crown High School for four years teaching A.P. Environmental Science, Environmental Science, Earth and Space Science, Geology, and Physics. At LFA, Kevin teaches A.P. Environmental Science, Advanced Biology, Astronomy, and Natural Disasters. He will also serve as the head coach for boys JV basketball and the head coach of boys JV volleyball. He currently lives with his wife Kari and son Owen in Gurnee.
Aloyce Lekuton | profile
Aloyce Gonzaga Lekuton (known as Mr. L) joined LFA as a full-time international trainee in the Stuart Center for Global Leadership in November of 2016.
Aloyce earned his BS in Agricultural Engineering from EARTH University in Costa Rica. He has worked for an agricultural NGO in South Africa, the World Vision in Kenya, the Jamii Bora Bank Kenya, and the Children Peace Initiative Kenya. His last job was with a tax institution of Kenya called Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). He has traveled the world and lived in different cultures which helped him to be an open-minded individual. He lived in Costa Rica for four years to study. He lived and worked in South Africa for one year and lived two years in Krasnodar, Russia. He is fluent in English, Spanish, Swahili, Maasai, and Samburu. He worked with a number of GYLI groups in Costa Rica and is currently working on creating more partnerships for the Stuart Center and GYLI in the US and East Africa.
Aloyce lives on campus and is a dorm parent in Atlass. He is also the Girls Varsity Volleyball Assistant Coach and a Track and Field Assistant Coach. He has also coordinated and helped as a Chaperone to the Head of School Symposium to Caribbean (The Dominican Republic and Haiti), 2017 GYLI Year 1 & 3 to Los Angeles and Costa Rica respectively.
