Edward Shaughnessy | profile
Ed Shaughnessy is a member of the LFA Science Department. He has a M.S. in Physics from the University of MN and a B.S. in Physics from Fairfield University. Ed came to LFA in 1994 after a four year stint at Saint James School in Maryland. At LFA, Ed is the assistant boys cross country coach and JV baseball coach. He lives in Faculty Circle.
Nick Smith | profile
Nick Smith has been an instructor in the department of Fine Arts at Lake Forest Academy since 2011. He holds a BFA from Bowling Green State University where he majored in Two-Dimensional Studies and focused in Photography. He earned his teaching certificate in Art Education from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and is certified in Art Education, K-12. Most recently, he started his Masters of Art in Art Education from Boston University. At LFA, Nick teaches courses in photography and digital media as well as 2D studio. In addition to teaching, Nick serves as the faculty advisor to the Photography Club. He is an active member of the Academic Technology Committee and has served as a committee member of the Head of School Symposium in both 2013 and 2014. In the Spring of 2015, he helped chaperone the HOS Spring Break trip to Laos and Cambodia. He is the assistant coach of the Junior Varsity Baseball team and has been a dorm parent in Warner and Marshall Field dorms since 2011.
