Elementary school students cheering for performance

Photo Gallery: Seussical - Traveling Performances

In addition to its four-day run of performances in The Cressey Center for the Arts, LFA’s winter musical, Seussical, took the show on the road, performing at two local elementary schools.

Cast, crew, and orchestra packed up the set and headed out to Oak Terrace Elementary School in Highwood on Thursday, February 9, where they performed two run-throughs of the show for students. On Wednesday, February 15, the group then traveled to Forrestal Elementary School in North Chicago, where they performed a shortened version of the show for the after-school program.

The elementary school performances come as a result of LFA’s partnership with North Chicago Community Partners (NCCP) through the Stuart Center for Global Leadership. The partnership focuses on intentional service and community engagement and includes other areas of involvement, such as LFA’s Health, Wellness, and Community program and the Interact Club.  Seussical is the first musical in recent years that has been able to perform at NCCP schools due to previous COVID restrictions.

Lake Forest Academy is grateful to The Pattis Family Foundation for contributing to this production through the establishment of The Pattis Family Fund for LFA's Winter Musicals.
