Shavon Conkle is an RN and graduate of the Harper College nursing program. She brings over 17 years of healthcare experience to her position as a nurse at Lake Forest Academy. Shavon and her family currently reside in Grayslake, Ill., and she recently earned her BSN from Purdue Northwest University.
Emily Hansen joined LFA's Math Department this year and has been teaching for eight years in the suburbs of Chicago and has lived in Illinois her whole life. Before LFA, she taught at Willows Academy in Des Plaines. Emily received her BA in Mathematics and Secondary Education from Knox College, and is currently working on her MS in Curriculum and Instruction at Western Governors University and is expected to finish this coming spring. She lives off campus with her husband and her dog and is teaching Geometry and Conceptual Algebra 2.
Eric Hillebrand is part of LFA’s History and Social Sciences Department this year as an Interim Economics Teacher. He taught the last four years at GEMS World Academy in Chicago and prior to that he taught at college preparatory high schools in Asia, Latin America and Europe including a boarding school in the Czech Republic. Eric earned his BA in History from Marquette University and his MA in International Relations from the University of Chicago. He lives on the Northwest Side of Chicago with his family and teaches AP Economics, Intro Economics and Entrepreneurship at LFA.
Dieter Villegas ’18 returns to the LFA community as a member of the Math department. He is teaching Precalculus and AP Computer Science Principles. He graduated from Bates College where he studied Mathematics and Digital Computational Studies and was part of the track team for two years. Originally from Mexico, he came to the United States before starting and graduating high school from LFA. Dieter lives on campus in Warner dorm and coaches boys and girls soccer.
