In addition to the regular summertime activities on campus with camps and preparations for the upcoming school year, Lake Forest Academy welcomed Premier League side Crystal Palace FC as the club prepared for its match against Colombian champions Millonarios FC in the Chicago Nations Cup.
The Eagles spent two days training on the LFA Soccer Fields that included a Tuesday morning open training session for supporters of the South London club. In addition to training at LFA, Crystal Palace staff and players were out and about around Chicago with additional events at the Chicago River, a stop at Lou Malnati’s and a visit with the Chicago Bulls.
On Wednesday night, CPFC came up just short by a score of 2-1 in its match against Millonarios on a penalty kick in the 90th minute of action. The Eagles finish their American tour in Detroit when they face Spanish side Sevilla on Sunday.
