Niche: Lake Forest Academy
Lake Forest Academy continued its tradition of excellence as recently-released rankings by Niche placed LFA as the top boarding school in Illinois and among the top boarding and college prep high schools in the country.
Niche ranks schools not only on test scores and academic performance, but also includes input from students, alumni and parents along with data from the U.S. Department of Education, Niche users and the schools directly to create one of the most comprehensive school search tools available to students and families.
LFA moved up to No. 18 in the nation among the Best Boarding High Schools in America and remained No. 1 in the state of Illinois. The rankings were out of 418 boarding schools nationally and eight in the state.
Other national rankings for the Academy include No. 42 (out of 4,159) in Best College Prep Private High Schools, No. 54 (out of 4,323) in Best Private High Schools, No. 66 (out of 7,010) in Most Diverse Private High Schools and No. 134 (out of 8,786) for Best High Schools for STEM in America. All of these rankings put LFA in the top 1-2% nationally in each category.
In the state of Illinois, Lake Forest Academy is No. 2 out of 142 schools in the Best Private High School rankings and also second out of 138 for the Best College Prep Private High Schools. Other state rankings include fourth (out of 220) for Most Diverse Private High Schools, seventh (out of 295) for Best High Schools for STEM and No. 210 (out of 926) in Best High Schools for Athletes in Illinois.
