Thirty students recently represented LFA in the Illinois State Leadership Conference for Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). 10 students traveled to Springfield, Ill. over the weekend of April 5-7 for their presentation events, while the other 20 participated remotely by completing objective tests or submitting business reports beforehand.

FBLA is a business-focused student organization with high school and college chapters around the world. The organization focuses on developing students' leadership, communication, and teamwork skills through business-oriented projects and tests. FBLA has more than 3,500 members in Illinois and over 1,500 traveled to Springfield to participate in person for this year's state competition. The following LFA students received awards in their event at the state level:

Cyrena Yang ’26 – 1st Place – Database Design & Applications
Haricharan Yarlagadda ’27 and David Nguyen ’27 – 1st Place – Introduction to Programming
Chelsea Lu ’26 – 3rd Place – Cyber Security
Jack Graham ’25 and Joseph Satriano ’25 – 4th Place – Data Analysis
Queenie Wu ’26 – 4th Place – Introduction to Financial Math
Janelle Su ’26 – 5th Place – Introduction to Business Procedures
Maya Greenwood ’26 – 6th Place – Client Service
Caden Ye ’26, Joey Chen ’25, and Anish Somu ’24 – 6th Place – Financial Statement Analysis
Selina Ye ’26 – 9th Place – Economics
Viktoriia Miasnikova ’26 – 10th Place – Business Plan
Aryaman Desai ’25 – 10th Place – Supply Chain Management

Competitors who place in the top-four of their event at the state level are eligible to compete at the FBLA National Leadership Conference, which will be held this year in Orlando, Fla. from June 29-July 2.
