Former Caxy Wins CFL’s Grey Cup

Dejon Brissett ’15 and the Toronto Argonauts recently won the franchise’s first Canadian Football League Grey Cup since 2017 with a 24-23 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Brissett finished his second season with the Argonauts after being selected as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 CFL Draft.

The Mississauga, Ont., native played two seasons at Lake Forest Academy before playing collegiately at the University of Richmond and the University of Virginia. During his junior season at Richmond, Brissett totaled 63 catches for 896 yards and seven touchdowns en route to earning First-Team All-CAA honors. After suffering an ankle injury as a senior, he transferred to the University of Virginia for his final year of eligibility where he played in 12 games with two starts.

In two seasons in the CFL, Brissett has played in 29 games and scored his first professional touchdown this season against the Montreal Alouettes on Oct. 29.
