The Lake Forest Academy community saw a familiar face on ABC and ESPN Thursday night as former Caxy Olivier-Maxence Prosper was selected in the first round of the NBA Draft. Prosper was the No. 24 pick overall by the Sacramento Kings before his rights were traded to the Dallas Mavericks.
Prosper attended LFA and played basketball during the 2018-19 academic year. Following the season, he was offered an opportunity to attend the NBA Academy Latin America in Mexico City to finish his prep career.
He took advantage of the opportunity which led to Clemson University where he played his freshman season to Marquette University via a transfer for the remainder of his collegiate career. Last season with the Golden Eagles he averaged 12.5 points and 4.7 rebounds.
Prosper will play for the Mavericks this summer in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas starting July 7.
