NumWorks Calculator
The LFA Math Department recommends that every LFA student owns and uses the NumWorks calculator as their primary calculator beginning in the 2023-24 school year.
Teachers in the math department will primarily use NumWorks software as a teaching tool. Some notable benefits of NumWorks include:
- Allowed on the AP, SAT, ACT tests
- Free app for computer, phone (both iOS and Android), and iPad
- Powerful and intuitive
- Less expensive than its competitors
We realize that many current students own other calculators (TI-84, TI-Nspire, etc.). They may continue to use these calculators, and we will support their use for the next three years. However, after extensive research and professional development, the department intends to transition to school-wide NumWorks usage by the 2026-27 school year.
