For the 2011-12 school year the Lake Forest Academy community will be exploring the topic of
Religious pluralism describes an active commitment to learn about others' beliefs and perspectives, as well as a commitment to discover, articulate, and celebrate shared values. One does not have to be religious to engage in this dialogue; secular, atheist and agnostic people can be religious pluralists.
From the committee: "Our goal is to provide our community with opportunities to enrich their understanding of various faith traditions and philosophical perspectives, to learn about the values shared across various faiths and traditions, and to provide a forum for students, faculty, and staff to share their own philosophies and beliefs. We hope to accomplish this through curricular initiatives, speakers, visits to various centers of worship, student panels, a film series, and a trip."
