Head Coach: Christian Dozois | profile
Chris Dozois is the History Department Chair. He has worked at LFA since 1989, and is a 1984 graduate of the Academy. He received his B.A. from Miami University (OH) and his M.Ed. from National Louis University. Chris teaches US and AP US History. He is the head coach of the girls cross country team. Chris lives on campus with his wife and two daughters, one of whom graduated from LFA in 2017 and the other who is a member of the LFA class of 2021.
Assistant Coach: Kerry Cedergren | profile
Kerry Cedergren joined the LFA science department in 2001. She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemistry from Illinois State University and her Ph.D. from Michigan State University in Chemistry. Prior to working at LFA she was a senior research scientist at Abbott Labs where she worked in the diagnostics division developing several different blood tests. Over the years, she has taught all levels of chemistry and is currently teaching AP Chemistry and Biochemistry Research using Chromatographic Methods. She has served on many committees over the years and is now the faculty advisor of the Science Olympiad club. She is currently coaching girls cross country and lives in Libertyville with her family.
Assistant Coach: Kassandra Hayes | profile
Kassandra started working at LFA in 2016 as the Associate Dean of Admission. She is passionate about creating memorable experiences for each prospective family and student throughout the admission process. Kassandra’s previous experience includes working as the Assistant Director of Admission at Francis W. Parker in Chicago, Director of Admission & Enrollment Management at Far Hills Country Day School (NJ), and Director of Admission at Cathedral School (NY). Prior to working in the field of education, Kassandra was a broadcast news anchor and reporter at NBC and CBS affiliates in Texas, Kansas, and Louisiana.
She earned a BA in Journalism from Howard University, a MS in Elementary Education from the University of Pennsylvania, and a MS in Education Leadership from Bank Street College. Kassandra lives off campus with her husband Mel and daughters Kennedy ('18) and Hunter. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family outdoors, reading, and running.
