Head Coach: Darrin Madeley | profile
Former NHL player and All-American Darrin Madeley is Director of Hockey Operations and the Athletic Director. Darrin started working at LFA in 2005 through the USA Hockey National Team Development Program (NTDP), an Ann-Arbor, Michigan-based organization that prepares student-athletes for participation on U.S. National Teams and careers in hockey. Darrin has worked as a goalie coach and assistant coach for the NTDP and has played professional hockey for the Ottawa Senators and the San Jose Sharks. He also played in Europe with TPS Turku (Finnish Elite League) and Rosenheim (German Elite League). Darrin has a bachelor’s degree in physical and health education from Lake Superior State University and a teaching certificate (K–12) from Saginaw Valley State University. Madeley coaches the prep hockey team at the Academy. He lives on campus in North Cottage as a dorm parent.

Assistant Coach: Andrew Poska | profile
Andrew Poska joined the College Counseling Office in 2004. After working as the Associate Dean of College Counseling for six years, he took on the role of Dean of College Counseling, in 2014. Andrew is the Assistant Coach for the Prep Hockey team. He has also coached tennis and badminton during his time at the Academy. A native of Massachusetts, Andrew earned his B.A. in government and legal studies from Bowdoin College. After graduation, Andrew coached hockey at Bowdoin for three years and then spent three years working as an admissions officer at the University of Michigan. Andrew and his wife, Olivia, an English and art history instructor, live on campus in Ferry Hall with their daughter, Eleanor.
