Spectator Earns Nationally Recognized Accolades

LFA’s student newspaper, The Spectator, has a lot to celebrate.
The student run, led, and written paper earned a 1st place finish with special merit, the higher of two first places in the national competition. But, the praise didn’t stop there. The Spectator was also named one of the five most outstanding newspapers in the whole country.

 | Multicultural Celebration and International Fair a Huge Success

Leap Day was especially unique for the LFA community this year as it celebrated its annual Multicultural Celebration and International Fair. The morning started off with a wonderful performance from actress and playwright Rohina Malik. Ms. Malik's one-woman show "Unveiled" depicts the stories of 5 Muslim women in a post-9/11 world.

 | Robot Ready to Throw

The Lake Forest Academy Robotics team put the finishing touches on their masterpiece earlier this week. The robot, designed, programmed, and operated fully by LFA students, was sealed up on Tuesday awaiting competition at the Midwest Regional FIRST Robotics Competition on March 22, 23 and 24.

Six members of the senior class were named National Merit Scholarship Finalists. These finalists have met all of the requirements to be considered for National Merit Scholarships offered in 2012.
