WINTER WEEKEND TRIP: CivicAction
In partnership with the Civic Education Project, an award-winning leadership and civic engagement program based at Northwestern University's Center for Talent Development, Lake Forest Academy is pleased to offer its students the opportunity to participate in this unique career-focused service-learning immersion experience. CivicAction for Lake Forest Academy in Winter 2012 will focus on Human Rights & Urban Affairs, and will take place Thursday, February 16 to Sunday, February 19 in downtown Chicago.

Ekakitie to Play in Marine Bowl
Faith Ekakitie '12 is one of 100 top high school athletes selected to play in the US Marine Corps'
Semper Fidelis All American Bowl Game.
The game will be held on Jan. 3 in Phoenix, Arizona at 4 pm MST. Live coverage is available on CBS Sports.
The game will consist of two teams representing the Eastern and Western regions of the United States.

School Year Abroad Reception
On Tuesday, November 29th, from 6:30-8pm, SYA will hold an evening reception on campus for all students interested in spending a semester or year abroad. SYA has programs in France, Spain, Italy, China and Vietnam. The reception is open to all students and their families who think that a year abroad might fit into their study plan next year or in upcoming years. Both the Director of Admissions, Rachel Kelly, and the Associate Director of Admissions, Ameerah Philips, will be on campus to make a brief presentation and answer any questions you may have about the programs. This informal reception will take place in the Cressey Theater, with refreshments available in the lobby.

LFA Students Handing out “Warm Fuzzies”
Hands On is a community service club that combines crafting with giving back to the community. Hands On, which operates under the school’s umbrella organization for community service, Interact, is currently working on several crafts to be showcased at Parents Weekend.
