Lake Forest Academy's Athletic Mission
Our athletic program offers many athletic opportunities, ranging from preparing for collegiate athletics to physical fitness and individual development. The essence of our program is the promotion of sportsmanship. Whether it be varsity athletics, intramurals, physical education, or general recreation, we honor participation, achievement and effort.
We strive to find success, measured not only in victories, but also in the individual development of each athlete.
We take pride in the diversity of our student athletes and promote the value of lifelong physical fitness. Our coaches consistently challenge our student-athletes to reach their potential. We seek excellence in both athletics and academics. Our scholar athletes are a part of a mission-centered athletic tradition. We believe that the skills that our student-athletes develop during their time at the Academy will mold them into productive members of society.
1. Produce teams that are competitive and strive to win
2. Encourage teamwork and sportsmanship by teaching student athletes to be graceful in both victory and defeat
3. Emphasize the value of healthy competition
4. Accommodate any skill level, from beginning to elite, from participatory to competitive
5. Provide first-rate athletic facilities that will serve the entire LFA community
|Diago Quinn Signs College Letter of Intent|
|Katie Kim Signs Letter of Intent for Boston College|
Katie is a four-year letter winner, playing consistently at #1 or #2 varsity for the past three years, and this year’s captain. Playing from the same tees as the boys – courses up to 6800 yards – her score counted in an amazing 40 out of the 43 career varsity matches she played, and she was LFA’s medalist (low scorer) an equally amazing 21 times. This year, she became the first girl in the history of the Zion-Benton Invitational to medal, finishing 6th out of 120 golfers, and medaled at the Genoa-Kingston Invitational for the third consecutive year, finishing 3rd out of 112. She’s been an incredible competitor, an inspirational leader, and above all an outgoing and friendly teammate. She’ll be hard to replace atop the lineup, but even harder to forget.
