|  | Loring StrudwickDean of Admission and Mathematics Instructor 847-615-3266 Year Appointed: 2001 Loring Strudwick was appointed LFA's Dean of Admission in July 2007. Before arriving at LFA in 2001, she was a math teacher at Phillips Academy, Andover where she was also head swimming and water polo coach, an admissions interviewer and reader, and a residential dean. She has lived in dormitories for 20 years. Loring holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from St. Lawrence University and a Master of Science for Teachers (MST) from the University of New Hampshire. Loring started her teaching career at the Kent School, CT in 1981-1984, spent 17 years at Andover, and has been at Lake Forest Academy since. Loring will continue to teach two sections of Advanced Placement Calculus in addition to her duties as Dean of Admission. She lives on campus with her husband, John, and their three children, Jane, Andrew, and Ian. |
 Caroline PuglieseSenior Associate Dean of Admission - Op. 847-615-3265 Year Appointed: 1992 Caroline started out as the Administrative Assistant and quickly worked her way through the ranks. She became Assistant Dean in 1995, Associate Dean in 2006, and Senior Associate Dean in 2007. She has also been involved with financial aid serving as Director and Assistant Director throughout her time here.
Caroline grew up in Buffalo, New York and in 1984 she arrived at Lake Forest College where she graduated in 1989. Caroline lives in Libertyville with her husband, Paul, and their three children Lauren, Matthew and Cameron. In her free time, Caroline enjoys attending her children’s sporting events and is also an avid supporter of all of the Caxy teams!

 Adam GerberAssociate Dean of Admission and Director of Global Outreach 847-615-4779 Year Appointed: 2000 Adam Gerber has spent his 15 years at Lake Forest Academy working with international students, first as an English as a second language (ESL) instructor, and currently as Director of Global Outreach within the Admission Office. He has lived and worked in Hungary, Kenya, and Japan, and is eager not only to help international students and parents through the application process, but also to support them as members of the LFA community.
Adam has coached basketball, golf, football, track, and wrestling. As Director of Student Activities, he helped establish the LFA House System, and as Director of Service Learning, he helped establish LFA's Service Learning Program. He has led student service trips to Louisiana and Kenya. Adam is a dorm parent and lives on campus with his two children, Yvette and Eamon.

 Ted StewartAssociate Dean of Admission 847-615-3237 Year Appointed: 2008 Ted Stewart begins his fourth year working in the admissions office at Lake Forest Academy. Ted works closely with both day and boarding students and their families throughout the admissions process and is a member of the history department, teaching a senior elective in the spring. Ted graduated from Hamilton College and has a master of science in sports administration from Southern New Hampshire University. Ted came to LFA from Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, New Hampshire, where he served as Associate Director of Admission and football coach for three years. Ted also has admission experience working at Cardigan Mountain School as an Assistant Director of Admission.
Ted is also entering his fourth season as the LFA head football coach. His squads have had back- to-back winning seasons and embark on their inaugural year as Associate members of the Chicago Catholic League. After graduating from Hamilton College, Ted began his coaching career as a defensive graduate assistant at the University of New Hampshire before coaching two seasons as the defensive line coach at Dartmouth College.
Ted lives in Lake Forest with his wife, Catherine, and three children, (Liam, Lilly, and Charlie). When he’s not speaking with a prospective student or on the field, Ted enjoys watching his children’s many activities. |
 Melvin AllenAssociate Dean of Admission – Director of Student of Color Recruitment 847-615-3269 Year Appointed: 2006 Melvin Allen joined Lake Forest Academy in June 2006 and is the Associate Dean of Admission, Director of Student of Color Recruitment.
Melvin earned his B.A. in Business Administration from Robert Morris College in 1997 and his Masters in Information Systems and Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago. Melvin also holds a management certificate from Walt Disney School of Management and a certificate from Robert Morris College Management Institute. He is currently pursing his Doctorate in Organizational Leadership in Higher Education from Argosy University.
During the 13 years previous joining LFA, Melvin served as Director of Enrollment Management/Student Recruitment at the College of Lake County and at Robert Morris College in Chicago. Melvin played college basketball and ran track at Malcolm X Community College as well as the University of Wisconsin. He was the Head Coach of Men’s and Women’s cross country and track at Robert Morris College, winning six championships and becoming the coach of the year six times out of the eight years he coached. Melvin served as Region VI Chairman for IL and IA for five years overseeing all rules, regulations, and events for cross country and track.
In addition to his work in admissions, Melvin is the head coach of the Boys and Girls Indoor Track program. Melvin’s hobbies are volunteering at Children’s Home in Chicago, football, weightlifting, swimming and running.

 Lisa KoivuAssistant Dean of Admission- Advertising Coordinator 847-615-4897 Year Appointed: 2007 Lisa joined the group as an Associate Dean of Admission and Advertising Coordinator in July of 2007. Lisa wears many hats in the office: traveling to boarding school fairs, processing online applications, creating videos, and most importantly, helping families learn more about Lake Forest Academy.
Lisa is a native Michigander and moved to Chicago in 2003 after graduating from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in English. She also has a Masters in Public Service from DePaul University. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and trying new restaurants in Chicago.
